Zehrs in the Past

Zehr's origins began in July 1950, when a father called Emory Zehr and his sons Clifford and Lester founded a tiny grocery shop in Kitchener, Ontario. Emory and his son cared less about the size of the store and more about the growth of their business and how they could satisfy their clients by providing the most outstanding customer service, which put them ahead of their competition. They could attract numerous customers by making them feel welcome and providing a nice atmosphere. All of this contributed to the tiny grocery shop eventually becoming a gigantic supermarket at the time. A few years later, the family-owned firm had grown so large that it acquired a large facility in the Guelph City region. And in 1963, Zehrs Markets drew the attention of the Loblaw Companies, Ltd, which bought them out, and the shops' new owner has continued the chain's development in other regions of the province ever since.

What Changed About Zehr

Zehr's establishments in Ontario have been known by three names: Zehrs Markets, Zehrs Food Plus, and Zehrs Great Food (similar to the new Loblaw Great Food locations in the Greater Toronto Area). Zehrs debuted a new logo and store design in 2010 and renovated numerous locations to accommodate the new format. The new stores are called Zehrs Markets, in contrast to the new Zehrs Great Food concept that debuted only a few years ago. And now, the business entity is known as Zehrmart Ltd, which is operated by its parent company, Loblaw Companies Limited. Zehrs grew from a simple family store to become one of Canada's top sellers of food, pharmacy, and health and beauty items, with over 40 locations in Ontario and a distribution facility near Windsor. Like the rest of the world, Zehr supermarket has changed quickly while using the internet entirely. You may wonder how! Zehrs, like other premium supermarkets worldwide, now offers an online store where consumers can shop and book a food pickup. As a result, their client's lives are made more accessible. This, after all, is the ultimate goal of the chain's creator.

Zehrs products

Zehrs stores are a "one-stop" shop with conventional departments such as fresh bread, meat, and newer non-traditional categories, including optical stores, wine shops, clothes, and electronics. Also, Zehrs has a large selection of foodstuffs, including fresh vegetables, canned goods, dairy products, and seafood. Zehrs also sells an extensive range of general commodities, such as health and beauty products, home décor, and tools.
