The very first thing to consider is where the grill is going to be, and how big the space is. For the electric grill, that’s not an issue, as it’s very safe and can go anywhere with an outlet to plug it in. For charcoal, the ideal is to have plenty of space and for it to be preferably in the open, so as not to damage anything with the heavy smoke and the flare-ups during the cooking. As for the gas grill, it depends. It’s never a good idea to have it too close to anything so as not to start an accidental fire, but they are also fairly safe to use compared to charcoal. So consider where the barbecue is taking place before choosing any one type.

When considering the best grill type, think about how much you can pay for it. And how much you want to pay for it over time. The cheapest of them all is the charcoal grill. That being said, charcoal is a very expensive fuel, and the cost will add up over time. The second option is the electric grill, you never run out of fuel, and you don’t need to replace any tanks. The third option is a tank gas grill, either butane or propane, and they can be fairly cheap, but you will need to replace the tank from time to time. The most expensive one is the natural gas grill: they need to be hooked up to a gas line.
Do you grill only occasionally and take your whole Sunday while doing it? Or do you like to start things off, make a couple of burgers or a steak, and be done? It’s important to consider convenience when choosing the best grill type for you. The fastest to set up is the electric, but the fastest to heat up is the gas one. Charcoal can be convenient with some practice and the right tools. The real question here is: what will you use the grill for? Are you looking to cook a quick meal, or do you want to relax and take your time preparing the perfect steak?
